of moving up in life

Guess what. Another nomination.

My very own Liebster Award.

Yay!

Thank you thank you thank you, Aleni! You have no idea how much this means to me 🙂

Oh, and here are the answers to your questions:

Which is your favourite movie?

Lord of the Rings. Every single one of them.

What do you do to unwind at the end of a hard day?

Bitch to the (now) fiancé about people and life in general.

What would be perfect weather for you?

Give me sunshine, any day!

Which task is of highest priority on a Sunday?

Sleeping

Who is your favourite actor?

Me!

Which tourist place would you like to visit?

Venice.

Which is your favorite fruit?

Mulberries. Can’t remember when I ate them last, but I love them!

In which list would you like your blog to feature?

Personal, I guess?

What kind of blogs impress you the most?

The kind that is honest and hard-hitting. Or funny. Funny works too!

If you could change one thing what would it be?

Umm… the fact that I have to pick a handful of bloggers and nominate them for this award. I think I’m going to have to come back and finish this one later!

of a delayed thank you

(Not so) recently, Zainab nominated this blog for a Reader Appreciation award. Obviously, I am on top of the world, what with a wedding on the cards and a sparkly new award logo to flaunt!

This means I get to share seven interesting things about myself. And these are in addition to the ones I posted here. Awesome.

1. It upsets me to no end when someone says women shouldn’t drive. They clearly haven’t seen me drive.
2. Modesty is overrated. I’m probably the most immodest person you’ve ever seen.
3. I go out of my way to look arrogant, but my friends tell me I’m not convincing enough.
4. I have to win Every. Single. Argument. Even if I know I am wrong.
5. Coffee is not my cup of tea. A cup of tea is!
6. I find it impossible to say no to people. Which makes me a bit of a  pushover.
7. I love wordplay!

All the fun aside, this nomination also puts more responsibility on my threadbare shoulders – I must now nominate some other bloggers for this award. I guess it will take me a while to come up with a solid list of nominations, but I’m very excited about this.

More on this later 🙂

of recognition

Thank you, zainabjavid, for nominating me for the Versatile Blogger Award. It’s surprising, exciting, and humbling, all at once.

It’s my turn to nominate those bloggers that catch my fancy. Here’s my list, in no particular order:

  1. MistressoftheInk
  2. Subhabrata Dasgupta
  3. Mitra Farmand
  4. The Swiveler
  5. Stephen
  6. Gill Andrews
  7. Julie Christine Johnson
  8. Dennis Cardiff
  9. Cheryl Moore
  10. Vincent Mars
  11. Paul Johnson
  12. The Noisy Pilgrims
  13. Michael Sacasas
  14. The Squeaky Robot
  15. Ray Ferrer

So let’s see how I’m doing vis-a-vis my Versatile Blogger Award Acceptance checklist.

I need to:

  • Display the Award Certificate on my blog. CHECK.
  • Write a post and link back to the blogger who nominated me. CHECK.
  • Nominate 15 other bloggers. CHECK.
  • Inform them of their nomination via comment on their blog. CHECK.
  • Post 7 interesting things about yourself. This is going to be tricky, seeing as I want to remain anonymous, but let’s see!
    • I have to read every day, even if it is only for a few minutes. I become Crankenstein-crazy if I don’t get to do this!
    • I’m also an insomniac, which basically means that I stay up either writing or listening to music all night, most nights.
    • I’m socially awkward, especially on blogs. I never know what to say, so I lurk in the shadows on most blogs I read and am always wondering how to respond to comments on mine.
    • I can’t eat. Really, I have a pea-sized stomach.
    • I’m never sure whether I’m in the right job or whether I like it enough to stay committed. Ditto about my relationships.
    • I believe in the whole past life shindig. I don’t want to, but I know it to be true so I don’t really have a choice.
    • I love to dance. Even right now, I’m dancing as fast as I can!

Much of my life is an open blog, should you choose to read 🙂
